Our 500ml Bird & Bug Remover has a combination of surfactants which neutralise the acid in bird lime. The soapy mousse will re-hydrate the deposit, creating a solution that can be easily wiped off the paintwork.

Supagard Bird Droppings Remover
I find it the best. You spray it on leave for a couple of minutes wipe off. The bodywork comes up as new. The foam goes directly on to the areas affected without running all over the place. I like it.

it does what it says on the bottle! Effectively removes bird lime without damaging the car's paintwork. Two minor gripes: price & the fact that it dribbles down rather than remain fixed on the bird lime when on a vertical surface (car side/door)... perhaps make it thicker/less viscous?
